22/11//2017 - Stained glass Christmas Star- Patchwork class with Sue Frecklington. Suitable for confident beginners
Wednesday, the 22nd of November, 10am - 4pm
1 in stock.
This ‘stained glass’ effect wall hanging is easier to make than it looks! The main applique is done with wondabond, and the ‘lead’ is also app[ied with an iron. Once that is done the free motion quilting holds it all together before a binding and hanging sleeve are applied.
You will need;
base fabric 27” square.
For the star; 5” square pale cream 6” x ½ width each of cream, gold, dark gold
For the sky; large scraps (approx 15” square) of 5 or 6 fabrics in shades of blue, light to dark
3 packs of black fusible bias tape 6mm wide. (you could use straight tape but this would have to be stitched on)
1 metre wondabond.
30” square backing fabric
Cream thread and optional colour for the back.
A pencil and scissors
If you really do not want to try free motion quilting, then all pieces will need edge stitching, and quilting will need to be done at the same time.
The Craftea Cafe will be open for lunch, cakes, tea and coffee. Materials can be bought before or on the day of the class with a 10% discount!
