For more info and how to get there, please click here Make a Colour Block Hat Experiment with colour and texture, and chose 3 fabrics you love to create a perfectly fitting hat. Whether you chose bright contrasting colours, subtle toning shades, or anything in between, the textures of the fabric you chose will further highlight the hat design. Learn how to measure your head to make a perfectly fitting hat, with a soft brim. You will alter the pattern to fit, and make your hat from the pattern you create. The project includes making your own piping, inserting lining, and tips for pressing and finishing. Paper pattern is supplied - but you will need: Fabric 1 - 50cm of at least 135cm wide fabric Fabric 2 – 35cm of at least 135cm wide fabric Fabric 3 - 20cm of at least 135cm wide fabric for piping (piping is traditionally made from fabric cut across the grain, but for this project we will make piping cut from the straight grain) 1 metres of piping cord 25cm of cotton or poly/cotton for lining 50cm of firm, woven, fusible interfacing Matching sewing thread Please bring all the material requirements to the class with you as well as a packed lunch.
